Agricultural M&E aims to serve green growth

Agricultural M&E must come up with energy-saving solutions, use new energy sources, renewable energy, green energy, etc.

At the seminar “Agricultural M&E in the digital era” held recently (May 11), Dr. Nguyen Xuan Truong, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering (Vietnam National University of Agriculture) emphasized the role and application of new technologies of the digital era in life in general and in smart agricultural production in particular, thereby providing effective solutions.

To develop models of farming machines, harvesting machines, equipment for preservation and processing of agricultural products.

According to Mr. Truong, in the coming time, the scientific research projects of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering will aim to solve problems in agriculture according to the orientation of the Government and departments at all levels, in addition to promoting the inherent strengths of the Faculty in the development of farming machine models, harvesting machines, equipment for preservation and processing of agricultural products, etc.

“The Faculty will focus on researching new solutions in designing automated systems in smart and sustainable agriculture, closed livestock models, waste treatment in livestock, etc. Research energy-saving solutions, use new energy sources, renewable energy, green energy…”, Mr. Truong said.

Những định hướng này thể hiện sự quyết tâm của khoa Cơ – Điện trong việc đóng góp vào sự phát triển bền vững của ngành nông nghiệp Việt Nam thông qua các hoạt động khoa học và công nghệ.
These orientations demonstrate the determination of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering to contribute to the sustainable development of Vietnam’s agricultural sector through scientific and technological activities.

At this workshop, Dr. Nguyen Thi Hien, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, summarized the Faculty’s scientific and technological activities in the field of agricultural M&E in the period of 2024-2025 and orientation for activities in the following years. Typical scientific research results of two strong research groups, teachers in the faculty and student scientific research groups were presented at the Conference, including:

Firstly, research on the overview of RF radio energy capture and storage technology for IoT devices for smart agriculture” by Dr. Nguyen Thai Hoc, Head of the Strong Research Team: Semiconductor Technology and Automation Equipment;

Secondly, to study the influence of some parameters on the quality of baked sweet potatoes” by MSc Luong Thi Minh Chau – a member of the strong research team: Agricultural machinery and equipment;

Third, Microgrid system for smart buildings” by MSc Pham Thi Lan Huong – a member of the strong research group: Semiconductor technology and Automation equipment;

Fourth, research and implement an improved Yolov8 application system for disease detection on rice plants” by MSc Ngo Phuong Thuy, lecturer at the Faculty of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering;

Fifth, “Agricultural Robot” by student Ngo Van Sang, K68DKTDHB, representing the research team, members of the Robot and Technology Club;

Sixth, “Business model of automatic car wash stations at universities in Vietnam” by student Le Anh Tuan, K66CNOTOB, representative of the research team.

The reports received the attention and enthusiastic exchange of scientists, teachers, teachers and students. The opinions all said that the authors’ research directions have promptly updated new technologies in the digital era, which are useful solutions in practice.

In the coming time, it is necessary to continue further research, so that it can be applied in production practice. Research needs to be coordinated and combined between scientists, lecturers, research groups and indispensable participants who are students who are passionate about science so that the product has high applicability and meets the requirements in the digital era./.
