Facing challenges due to extreme weather and climate change, greatly affecting agricultural production. But in recent years, Ha Tinh agriculture has achieved significant achievements.
According to statistics, in 2024, Ha Tinh’s agricultural industry has achieved gratifying achievements. Total food production is estimated at over 66.7 thousand tons, an increase of 3.18% compared to 2023 (an increase of 20,000 tons).
Sharing about the achievements of Ha Tinh’s agricultural industry over the past time, Mr. Nguyen Van Viet – Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Department of Agriculture and Environment said: In 2024, agricultural production will be harvested, prices will be good, the consumption market will be good, and the growth of the whole industry will reach the highest in recent years. estimated at 3.8% (1.2% in 2022, 2.99% in 2023), safe, organic, circular, and chain-link agricultural models were replicated (there are more than 1,290 hectares of VietGAP certified crops, 17 establishments certified organic products, organic production of more than 291 hectares, …), the state management in the fields has achieved good results, such as fire protection, natural disaster prevention and control, veterinary medicine, plant protection,…
The New Rural Development Program has achieved important results. Up to now, the whole province has 181/181 communes meeting NTM standards/ (100%), including 66 communes with advanced NTM standards (36.5%), 17 communes with model NTM standards (9.4%), 10/13 district-level units recognized as NTM standards/completing the task of building NTM, 1,210/1,626 villages meeting the standards of model NTM residential areas (74.4%). Ha Tinh strives to basically meet the provincial criteria for completing the task of building NTM by 2025 according to Decision No. 321/QD-TTg of the Prime Minister.

Land accumulation contributes to promoting agricultural production in an organic direction.
In 2024, the Agriculture sector will grow by 3.8% (exceeding the target of 2.5%), the production value per unit area will reach 100.5 million VND/ha. Maintain the proportion of livestock accounting for over 53% of the agricultural production value structure, the forest cover rate reaches 52.33%. In terms of cultivation, this is a year of harvest, comprehensive prices, so the selling price is higher than in previous years. Particularly, total food production is estimated at 66.7 thousand tons, an increase of 3.18% compared to 2023 (an increase of 20,000 tons).
Regarding land accumulation and digital transformation into agriculture, localities have focused on accumulating land that has gone into depth, giving clear effects with an area of 10,693 hectares. After accumulation, concentrated production areas have been formed to create favorable conditions for mechanization, irrigation regulation, application of technical advances, care and prevention of pests and diseases, attracting enterprises to invest in production and product consumption linkages.
Regarding the application of science and technology, digital transformation, the issuance of cultivation area codes is concerned, creating changes for farmers to produce in the direction of goods that meet regulations and standards. Many models of green economy, organic agriculture, and circular agriculture have been formed and developed.
Livestock continued to control diseases well, the total herd of cattle and poultry maintained in terms of size, herd quality and meat output increased slightly, estimated at 116,224 tons (up 4.4% compared to 2023). Livestock models according to VietGAP standards, organic, circular, and linked to value chains continue to be replicated. Forestry continues to maintain stability, increase the area of forests granted certificates of sustainable forest management, aquaculture and exploitation have achieved good results. Total seafood production for the whole year is estimated at 59,345 tons, up 5.12% compared to 2023.
Developing organic, safe and quality agriculture
Mr. Nguyen Van Viet – Deputy Director of Ha Tinh Department of Agriculture and Environment added: 2024 is a significant year to complete the goals and plans of the 5-year plan 2021 – 2025 and the pilot project to build the province to meet NTM standards. Accordingly, the sector continues to focus on directing and concretizing the views, objectives and orientations of organic, safe, ecological, efficient, sustainable, multi-value integration, strongly shifting to developing the agricultural economy based on the market, science and technology and linking with enterprises through cooperatives, the cooperative group is the driving force. Choosing trees and children with advantages and endemic to build organic and circular agriculture according to the roadmap.
This is the key task in the restructuring of the sector in order to create a bold and visionary step to transform into a green, low-emission and sustainable food system according to the orientation of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment and the tasks of the Resolution of the 19th Provincial Party Congress.
Application of modern machinery to agricultural production.
Mr. Nguyen Tri Ha – Director of the Sub-Department of Crop Cultivation and Plant Protection said: Up to now, the whole province has nearly 2,000 hectares of crops of all kinds granted VietGAP and GlobalGAP certificates, 3 aquaculture establishments certified by VietGAP, 8 livestock farms certified by VietGAHP. In the whole province, there are 28 establishments certified by HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000 standards,… are still valid. In which, 8 agricultural and fishery product processing establishments have HACCP certificates; 16 agricultural and fishery product processing establishments have GMP certificates and 4 processing establishments have ISO certificates.
Currently, the province has 17 production and cultivation facilities certified to meet organic standards with an area of 93.52 hectares, gradually expanding the chain of organic production links with Que Lam Group with a number of other enterprises investing in rice and pig products. Particularly in the field of crop cultivation, there has been a strong shift in the direction of commodity production, improving product quality, restructuring crops in the direction of increasing the area with the advantages of each locality and according to market demand, developing organic agricultural production, circular agriculture, etc green agriculture aims to improve product quality, increase value and production efficiency, many models have been formed and developed on a large scale, many livestock models according to VietGAP standards, organic, circular, and value chain linkage continue to be replicated.
In 2024, despite many difficulties and challenges, Ha Tinh’s agricultural sector has steadily overcome and reaped comprehensive results, creating a premise and baggage to make a breakthrough into the new year 2025 and the following years, striving to the end of 2025 by the end of the term.
